TERRI ON THE TOWN – YE OLE PRINT SHOPPE

By Terrie Heggie, Executive Director Crookston Area Chamber

I had the best time at Ye Ole Print Shoppe, during my Terri On the Town Tour. Ed Amiot was a gracious host and provided an informative tour of the business he and his wife Patty own.

Veteran-owned, Ye Ole Print Shoppe, Inc. was founded in 1976, with Ed taking it over in 1982. “Our mission is focused on the customer and taking care of their every need. We at Ye Ole Print Shoppe, Inc. provide super top-quality printing,” said Ed and Patty about their business. Ed has 49 years of printing experience, their pressman has 8 years of running offset printing equipment, and their graphic design employees have 30 + years of experience. Some of you may recall when this business began as Hasz Printing in a different location. Ed shared a little piece of history on how Crookston looked back in the day when he first began his interest in the printing field at the Crookston Times. I would say the two large pieces of printing equipment from the 1950s is a great representation of some of that history.

Beyond the obvious of being a “printing” business, Ed and his staff of four, provide so much more. Here is a short list and there is so much more; binding, oil binding, die cutting, embossing, custom embroidery, typesetting, and layout design, wire binding, letterman jackets, banners of any size, wedding invitations, newsletters, personalized coloring books, and those desk calendars we all love to “doodle” on at our desk.

One of the main reasons I began the Terri On the Town tour was to expand my knowledge as the Executive Director of your Crookston Chamber on our small and large businesses. It never ceases to impress me when I discover all they have to offer our community; how passionate these owners/managers truly are about their services and how they want to see everyone be successful. I also appreciate how hard they work to serve their customers. Ed Amoit is no exception to this rule.

When asked why being a Crookston Area Chamber member is important, Ed and Patty replied, “because the Chamber promotes and brings in new businesses.” Their future goals are to continue serving the community with printing and specialty items.

Check out their business at 112 South Main Street or online at yeoleprint.com. You may also give Ed and his crew a call at 281.4635
