This week’s Athlete of the Week is Crookston Pirate Girl’s Hockey player Addie Fee. The sophomore is tied for 4th on the team in Goals and is 2nd in total points this season with 31.
In the Pirates most recent game, Fee helped the team advance to the Section 8A Championship scoring 4 goals in their 5-0 win over Thief River Falls. “I’ve never scored four goals in a game before so I was honestly just shocked as it was happening,” said Fee.
Pirates coach Emily Meyer has been impressed with the way Fee has played all season, and while scoring four goals in one game is rare, the performance is just another example of what Fee is capable of. “I think more than anything that performance shows what she is capable of, and she is another player that can score,” said coach Meyer. She’s a fantastic player, and it’s been fun to watch her grow.”
Crookston will now square off with Warroad in the Section 8A Championship tomorrow night, a matchup the Pirates have been waiting for since the Warriors ended Crookston’s season a year ago. “We have all had the same goal in mind from the start of the season, and that was to make the State Tournament,” said Fee. “I think that will serve us well in the game and we will be ready for them.”
The Section 8A Championship from Warroad this Thursday night will begin at 7:00 p.m. and we will have the game both on KROX Radio, and the KROX Live Video Stream with the RiverView Health pregame show starting at 6:15 PM. Fee and the rest of the Pirates are prepared and ready to take the next step and knock the Warriors off.
