The Crookston High School and the City of Crookston teamed up to hold a job fair Wednesday evening. The event was held in the high school commons and featured over 20 businesses.
“Overall, I think the event was a success for the amount of time that we had to turn around events,” said event organizer Keenan Devier, the City of Crookston’s Marketing Coordinator. “We had a total of 24 businesses that ended up coming out to the event, which was really great for the community of Crookston.”
One of the many businesses that appeared was Crookston Park and Recreation. Crookston Park and Rec. is looking to fill many youth baseball coaching roles. Anyone 14 and up can apply for the positions available.
Benedictine Living Community of Crookston was also in attendance. “We always want to be involved in the community, promoting our facility, and making people aware of all the opportunities that we have for people who are looking for employment either full-time/part-time or on a casual basis,” said Human Resource Director Jennifer Reitmeier. Benedictine Living Community has multiple scholarship opportunities and is now offering its employees loan repayment and tuition reimbursement.
Sunrich Products was another business at the job fair. “We love any opportunity where we can get out in the community and get our new company name out there,” said Sunrich Senior Sales Manager Becky Kofoed. “Many people know us as Dahlgren’s or SunOpta, but for the last two years, we have been Sunrich Products.” Sunrich Products has positions such as a hand packager position in their roasting plant and a packager position in their raw plant. You must be 18 or older to apply to these positions. “Come check us out, have a conversation, go online, look at our openings, pick up the phone, give a call, and somebody will answer your call, which I think is really nice in a small community,” said Kofoed. “So, if you have any questions about Sunrich at all or about any of our positions, 218-280-5061.”
