TRI-VALLEY TO OFFER FREE RIDES ON TUESDAY TO CELEBRATE TRANSIT DAY

Tri-Valley Transportation Programs will offer free rides this Tuesday, July 16, to celebrate Transit Day. All rides in Crookston, Thief River Falls, Warren, Bagley, and Mahnomen will be free of charge. You must schedule your ride in advance at 800-201-3432.

Elizabeth Hensrud, the Assistant Director of Transportation Programs, mentions, “We ask that you call in advance so they can get a ride on that day. We do intend for it to be very busy. When you call, we ask you for your first and last name, where you want to be picked up, and where you want to go. We offer curb-to-curb service, so we pick you up right in front of your house and bring you to your destination.”

This year will be the first year that Tri-Valley Transportation offers this service to the public, but they hope to continue it for many years beyond this one. The program was initially started by an agency called RTAP, the Rural Transportation Assistance Program, back in 2019.

Once again, you must schedule a ride on Transit Day in advance as it will be busy. Call 800-201-3432 to do so.
