Fourth Grade Orchestra held its first concert at Highland on Tuesday

On Tuesday, February 18th, the 4th Grade Orchestra had its first concert at Highland. It was an “Informance”, an informal and informational performance. Students played their first songs for their families and took their first bows with their instruments on stage, and Ms. Carlson talked a little bit about what they will be learning next and why it’s important to keep practicing.

After the orchestra students performed, they taught an adult in their family how to hold their instrument and pluck on just the open strings to get the “Open String Blues.” The students were very good teachers! After a little bit of practice, parents performed this for the kids! Everyone did a great job, and it was a lot of fun. Congratulations, 4th Grade Orchestra, on your first concert!
