The name of the victim is Timothy Hauge 19 years of age from Fosston, MN. An Autopsy was conducted on Timothy Saturday, June 2, the preliminary cause of death was Cranio-Cerebral Trauma due to blunt force trauma to the head. The preliminary Manner of Death is Homicide resulting from an assault by another person.
Nicholas Patrick Hauge is being charged with 2 counts of Murder in the Second Degree. Timothy and Nicholas were brothers.

ORIGINAL STORY
On Sunday, June 2 at approximately 3:44 a.m. the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call of a reported assault on 8th Street NW at the intersection of North Mark Avenue in Fosston. A second 911 call from a different residence came in shortly after the first reporting that somebody is trying to break into their house at that intersection. When officers arrived there was one male standing around that intersection and another male laying on the curbside and wasn’t breathing. Deputies started CPR and Essentia Health EMS responded to the scene. The male laying on the curbside was later pronounced deceased. The other male, identified as Nicholas Hauge, 29-year old from Fergus Falls, was arrested and transported to the North West Regional Correctional Center. The deceased male was later transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was contacted and assisted with the scene processing. The name of the victim is being withheld at this time pending family notifications.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has no information that there is a continued threat to the public. There is no information that a firearm was involved in this incident.
