Evann Philion of Red Lake Falls participated in and won the 51st Annual Knights of Columbus State Free Throw Championship held on March 29 at Osseo Senior High School.
Evann is 13 years old and won the local contest in Red Lake Falls, the district contest in Red Lake Falls, and the region contest at East Grand Forks Sacred Heart, competing against other 13-year-olds from Northwest Minnesota. Evann is one of the top 140 free throw shooters in Minnesota and is the top free throw shooter in his age group.
Evann is a 7th grader and is the son of Kevin and Aleah Philion and grandson of Steve and Bev Philion. He plays basketball for the Red Lake County 7th and 8th grade teams.
