Crookston High School will host free summer orchestra lessons for middle and high school students beginning August 10

Crookston High School will host free summer orchestra lessons for students entering 5th through 12th grade starting on Monday, August 10. The lessons will be conducted in the choir/orchestra room at the high school, Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.

Lessons will be held in 45-minute sessions based on grade and instrument type. Students are encouraged to attend one lesson per week, but are welcome to attend any lesson in their age and instrument group. New music will be provided, but students should bring their method books to the lessons.

Following the daily lessons, the Valley Fiddlers group will rehearse from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. The group is open to all orchestra students entering 9th through 12th grade, and they perform fiddle-style music at community events throughout the year, allowing students to earn lettering points through this extra-curricular activity.
