HAWAII PACIFIC’S 31 POINT SECOND QUARTER DOES IN UMC 83-53 IN HONOLULU

The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Women’s Basketball team for the most part had one bad quarter, the second which led to an 83-53 loss to Hawaii Pacific in the Malika Sports O’Ahu Thanksgiving Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii. Hawaii Pacific had five players in double figures led by Ally Bates with 18 and the Sharks improve to 4-0 on the season. UMC did not have anyone in double figures with 12 in the scoring column and Mattea Vetsch (Fresh-Devils Lake, N.D.) leading the way with a career high nine points and Mary Burke (Fresh-Virginia, Mn) added eight points with six rebounds. The Golden Eagles trailed 16-15 at the end of the first quarter, but the Sharks went on a 14-0 run to start the second quarter building up a 30-15 lead and would never led the Golden Eagles within 11 points on their way to a fourth straight. UMC is 0-3 on the season and will close out the Thanksgiving Classic tonight at Midnight Crookston time (7PM in Hawaii) playing Chaminade University (Hawaii).
