The Northwest Regional Corrections Center announced the arrests of the following individuals:
Summer Lynn White, 19, for a felony probation violation.
Carlos Benedicto Colon, 39 of Crookston, for gross misdemeanor domestic assault.
Haley Jo Torkelson, 37 of Crookston, for misdemeanor contempt of court for willful disobedience to a court mandate. Released on personal recognizance.
Fire calls:
The Crookston Fire Department was called to a large field fire in Fisher Township at 6:13 Thursday evening. The owner was burning in a hayfield. The fire was determined to be under control, but the owner was informed of the red flag warning, the burning ban, and the necessity for a burn permit for such activities. The fire was allowed to burn out, and they cleared the scene.
At 6:25 p.m. they responded to a report of smoke from the Carmen Park area. They found a homeowner burning leaves; the homeowner was informed of the red flag warning, burn ban, and city ordinance against leaf burning. Burning leaves is one of the major causes of structure fires. The homeowner extinguished the fire.
