Grace Smith, an 8th grader at Crookston High School, competed at the 2021 Minnesota State Science and Engineering Fair. She received a silver award, which is top 20% across grades 6-12. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) has positively identified the invasive weed Palmer amaranth in Polk County. The confirmation came after the MDA inspected a field being used for the disposal of agricultural screenings.
