PIRATES HAVE A CHAMPION, TWO RUNNERS-UP AT WAHPETON TOURNEY

The Crookston Pirate Wrestling team had one champion, a second-place finish and a total of six placers to finish sixth out of 12 teams at the talent-laden Dan Unruh Wahpeton Wrestling tournament in Wahpeton, North Dakota.   Lisbon, North Dakota won the tournament with 242 points, 14.5 points better than Frazee.  Crookston finished with 124 points,

PIRATE BOYS HOCKEY COMES UP SHORT AT LITTLE FALLS

Pirate Girls Basketball Wins Easy Over Win-E-Mac

The Crookston Pirates Girls’ basketball team forced 37 turnovers in a 67-28 win over Win-E-Mac Patriots in a non-Section game played at the Crookston High School Gymnasium. Crookston utilized smothering defense in the first half as the Pirates managed to force 23 Win-E-Mac turnovers in the first half to take a commanding lead into halftime.

CROOKSTON COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS FOOD BASKET COMMITTEE GETTING READY

The Community Christmas Food Basket committee is preparing for the upcoming delivery of the 2018 Community Christmas Food Baskets.  Local 6th-grade students and local churches provide nearly 10% of the food for the baskets. Funds received from individuals, businesses and organizations are used to purchase the remaining 90 percent of the food which is purchased
