AUTHORITIES RESPOND TO CATTLE TRAILER ON ITS SIDE NEAR FOSSTON

On Friday, April 19, at approximately 2:04 a.m., the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a rollover near the intersection of Polk County Roads 1 and 31, approximately three miles west of the City of Fosston.

Upon arrival, deputies located a Peterbilt semi with an attached trailer loaded with cattle. Both units were on their side in the ditch immediately west of the road, and both sustained significant damage as a result of the crash.

Local community members and the Fosston Fire Department assisted in removing cattle from the trailer. The Fosston Essentia Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol also responded.

The semi driver, Richard Hulleman, 34, of Alton, IA, sustained minor injuries in the crash and was transported to Fosston Essentia by ambulance.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank those in the community who responded and assisted.
