BEMIDJI LUMBERJACKS SHUT OUT CROOKSTON PIRATE BOYS SOCCER

The Crookston Pirate Boys Soccer team took on their toughest opponent of the season as they lost to the Bemidji Lumberjacks 8-0 in a Lakes to Prairie conference match-up at the Bemidji Middle School.

FIRST HALF
Bemidji came out strong and controlled play early on and scored their first goal less than six minutes into the match when Isaac Stone found the back of the net.

It looked like Bemidji would take a four-goal lead into halftime until Bemidji’s Nick Rautio struck after a nice pass from Noah Meyer for a 5-0 lead with 1:27 left in the half.
Bemidji took a 5-0 lead into halftime.

SECOND HALF –
Bemidji continued to dominate the game as they added a sixth goal over 10 minutes into the half when Brady Riley scored for a 6-0 lead.
Crookston did a solid job of keeping Bemidji at bay for about 10 minutes before the Crookston goalie kicked the ball, and it went to Bemidji’s Marian Staengle. He had a quick pass to Isaac Stone, who found the back of the net for his third goal of the game to give the Lumberjacks a 7-0 lead.
Both teams went to the bench for the final 10 minutes, and Bemidji’s Harris Barry scored his first varsity goal to give the Lumberjacks an 8-0 lead.
