BOROWICZ, HUCK, AND MONTIETH ANNOUNCED AS CROOKSTON HIGH SCHOOL TRIPLE ‘A’ AND EXCEL AWARD WINNERS

Crookston High School announced its 2020-2021 Triple ‘A’ and Excel Award winners on Monday. Seniors Emma Borowicz and Gabriel Montieth earned the Triple ‘A’ Award, and Junior Olivia Huck earned the EXCEL award.

The Triple ‘A’ award recognizes and honors high school seniors who have excelled in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in fine arts. Students must be a senior, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, be a participant in at least one Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) sponsored fine arts or athletic activity, and comply with the MSHSL’s Student Code of Conduct.

Borowicz has a 4.0 GPA at Crookston High School and participates in band, visual arts, tennis, swimming, basketball, and track & field. She plans to pursue a college degree in civil engineering. Her parents are Garrett and Jennifer Borowicz.

Montieth has a 3.93 GPA and participates in choir, orchestra, visual arts, soccer, football, hockey, and track & field at Crookston High School. He plans to attend the University of Minnesota after graduation. His parents are Paul and Brigette Montieth.

The EXCEL award is given to a junior who is making satisfactory progress toward graduation, participates in at least one MSHSL sponsored fine arts or athletic activity, holds a leadership position in the school, works voluntarily within the Crookston community, and meets MSHSL general eligibility requirements.

Huck is a member of the student council, Leo Club, and honor roll. She is involved with the soccer, track & field, and basketball teams and is a band member. In the community, Huck is involved in 4-H, is a church group youth leader, youth soccer coach, Safety Town team leader, and on the Harvest Festival Committee. Her parents are Phillip and Vicki Huck.
