Greetings from the University of Minnesota Crookston. The weather is getting warmer, events are heating up, and our campus is looking forward to the season of spring.
We’ll be hosting a number of visitors in the next couple of months, including:
- University of Minnesota System President Rebecca Cunningham, Ph.D., March 26
- Jay Debertin, president and CEO of CHS, will be the keynote speaker of our next Bergland Lecture Series event on March 26 in Bede Ballroom
- Higher Learning Commission (HLC), who will have representatives on campus in mid-April to evaluate the University during our next round of accreditation
The Bergland Lecture Series was created to ensure ongoing interaction with all members of the agriculture and business ecosystem, and its future-oriented presentations are designed to spark thinking. These sessions are designed to encourage ideation to advance agriculture and rural communities. Interested in attending the March 26 event? Aside from the long list of forthcoming events, U of M Crookston athletics teams have had some pretty exciting events of their own with the hockey team making a historic run at the regional tournament narrowly missing nationals after an overtime nail-biter, men’s basketball keeping us on the edge of our seats and concluding their season celebrating seven senior student-athletes, equestrian team having first-place showings and recently being awarded the Region 3 Western High Point Team, baseball having a doubleheader sweep out of three games in Colorado this past week, softball picking up a recent split in Kansas, tennis sweeping last weekend’s matches, both men’s and women’s cross country competing, and women’s basketball securing a spot in the NSIC Tournament but were met with a first round disappointing loss.
Our campus DECA team also had some news as they participated in and placed at the State Career Development Conference in Alexandria, Minn. last weekend. Two of our students, Ayush Singh and Nadia Delorme, were elected as president and vice president of the Minnesota Collegiate DECA Association for the 2025-2026 academic year.
It’s a good time to be a Golden Eagle, that’s for sure. Know anyone interested in taking classes at U of M Crookston or working with us as an employee? Reach out at any time.
