The Crookston Pirate Wrestling team had eight wrestlers competing in the two-day Pequot Lakes Jackhammer tournament. Crookston finished 33rd out of 38 teams with 25 points. Staples-Motley won the tournament with 265.5 points, 84 points better than runner-up Hutchinson.Crookston’s top performer and only placer was Gavyn Hlucny. He finished eighth place at 152 pounds. The Crookston Pirate Wrestling team hosted the Rodd Olson Invitational at the Crookston High School gymnasium on Saturday and finished eighth place out of nine teams with 77.5 points. The Crookston Pirate Wrestling team lost to Hillsboro/Central Valley 47-30 and beat Thompson 46-21 at the Hillsboro/Central Valley triangular. Crookston filled two more spots in the lineup so instead of giving up five spots (30 points) before the match started, they were down three matches (18 point) and that helped them with a close loss

At 220 pounds Ethan Boll won the 204th match of his career to break the Pirate wrestling career wins record of 203 held by Cody Weiland, to win the Section 8A quarterfinal match over the Barnesville
