Crookston Ox Cart Days held a Hawaiian Shirt Contest in the Downtown Square. First Community Credit Union members went around the crowd looking for the best 12 Hawaiian shirts they could find.
The final twelve stood in front of the Downtown Square Stage and let the crowd decide who they believed had the best Hawaiian shirt with the loudness of their cheers. Once the audience went down the line, giving their loudest cheers, it came down to the three finalists, and after going down the line again, the crowd chose the youngest of the contestants, Charlie Staehnke as the winner of the Hawaiian Shirt Contest. While he may be a bit young for it, he won a full Tiki Bar set for himself and his family.
