CHS PREPARES FOR PROM 2024 ‘DISCO NIGHT IN THE CITY’ ON SATURDAY, APRIL 27

The Crookston High School prom takes place on Saturday, April 27. This year’s prom theme is ‘Disco in the City.’

“I have a prom committee of 17 members, and we’ve been working very hard since January,” said Prom Committee Chair member Linda Morgan, “About ideas and such. Our theme is ‘Disco Night in the City,’ so there will be a lot of disco balls, and it’s been fun to put together.”

The schedule for this year’s prom will look a little different from years past. The Grand March will begin at 6:00 p.m., which is 30 minutes later than last year. Grand March admission is $5 per person.

The Prom dinner will begin at 6:45 p.m. in the Crookston High School Commons, with Drafts Sports Bar and Grill catering the meal. Pasta, boneless chicken wings, and a special dessert will be served. The dance will take place from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the Crookston High School Commons area, and the prom committee has hired The Undertakers. “I met with them (The Undertakers) last week and said let’s get some disco music in there,'” said Morgan. “And they will mix in disco music between the kids songs, so that will be lots of fun, you might get some of us adult chaperones dancing a little bit.”

Morgan said they are expecting anywhere from 140 to 160 kids to register for prom.

The students who haven’t signed up yet can visit the main office and fill out the Prom form. The cost is $40 per person ($80 per couple), and if there is an out-of-town date/guest, they need to fill out a separate form. Identification is required for out-of-town registration.
