On Saturday, March 4, the Crookston High School Speech team competed at the 51st Chuck Beckman Memorial at Walker-Hackensack-Akeley. Crookston was one of 29 schools competing at the tournament, and multiple students brought home awards.
Winners included:
Sam Rezac – 3rd place in Storytelling
Zac Plante – 4th place in Honor Finals for Humor
Jack Anderson and Thor Harbott – 5th place in Honor Finals for Duo Interpretation
Shayla Azure – 5th place in Honor Finals for Humor

Ciaran Mulvey – Prose
Ivan Luckow – Creative Expression
Next week the team will compete at the Fosston/Bagley speech meet.
