The Crookston City Council will hold its first meeting of 2025 on Monday, January 6, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at City Hall in the Council Chambers.
The meeting will start with the Oath of Office for the Elected City Council Members, Kristie Jerde, Clayton Briggs, Derek Brekken, and Morgan Hibma.
The consent agenda includes approval of the City of Crookston Bills and Disbursements for $171,715.18, designating depositories for Public Funds for 2025, appointing Tanner Holten as the City Attorney for 2025 and Advanced Engineering & Environmental Services, LLC as the City Engineer for 2025.
The consent agenda also includes resolutions regarding the approval of license renewals for 2025 for Gas Fitters and cement Masons. There is also a resolution appointing the Boards or Commissions for 2025, and the approval of the City Council Committee Composition for 2025.
There is also a resolution to approve the contract with SRF Consulting Group, Inc., concerning the Right of Way Acquisition Services on Broadway and Main Avenue ADA Retrofit Project and a resolution regarding Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, LLC and Task Order No. 6—the Highway 2 Technical Assistance. The resolutions have to do with work associated with the Highways 2 project, which is concurrent with MnDOT, their updates, and progress.
The last item on the consent agenda is a resolution asking for support to move forward with the Active Transportation Infrastructure full grant application previously discussed by the Council. The grant is for the construction of a multi-use trail along 3rd Avenue SW and old Highway 75. The trail would extend the Fairfax Avenue trail to the Intersection of Ampride and American Crystal Sugar then to near RiverView Health and Stenshoe Houske Funeral home.
