CITY OF CROOKSTON PUTS OUT A GARBAGE COLLECTION SURVEY

The City of Crookston recently released a Garbage Collection Survey. The goal is to gauge residents’ opinions about the current collection process and learn what improvements they may want to see.

The survey is only 16 questions long and takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete. The link to the survey is on the City of Crookston’s social media pages, its website, and the Community Voice app. It is also the link below. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SLJHLLQ

“The survey is a garbage survey. There has been a lot of interest in bringing bins to town, and we just want to get people’s opinions before we move forward. Just be able to see what type of interest there is out there.” Said  Public Works Director Chuck Getsmen. “So yeah, please go to the website; there is going to be a QR code that will bring you to the website as well.”

He mentions his preference, “I think one of the benefits of bringing the bins into the city would mean less chance for the bags to break open and garbage spreading everywhere. Just keep the city a little cleaner/tidier.”

The bins in question are 95-gallon bins, and if the city went forward with those bins, each resident would receive two of them. One for regular trash and one for recycling. The cost is still being determined, but it will be a monthly subscription fee along with a $6 residential garbage fee.

Make sure to take the survey if you would like to voice your opinion on the matter.
