CITY OF EAST GRAND FORKS HOLDING 5TH ANNUAL SHOWCASE SEPTEMBER 22

The City of East Grand Forks will be holding its 5th annual East Grand Forks Showcase on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the East parking lot at the East Grand Forks Civic Center. After having to take 2020 off due to COVID, this free event is back and better than ever. The EGF Showcase creates an opportunity for people to learn more about the community while also having some fun!

City of East Grand Forks Departments that will be featured include the: Police and Fire Departments, Water and Light Department, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Campbell Library, Economic Development Authority, and the City Finance Department. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office, MN Department of Natural Resources, and the MN Highway Patrol are other law enforcement agencies that will be on hand. Polk County Public Health, Altru Health System and Safe Kids Grand Forks, Sanford Health, Achieve Fitness & Therapy, and the New Americans Integration Center will also have displays at the event.

Many departments and organizations will have equipment or information on display, including fire trucks, police/sheriff’s cars, and special equipment and heavy equipment from the Public Works Department. Minnesota TZD (Towards Zero Deaths Traffic Safety Program) will have a pedal car that people can try to drive while wearing Fatal Vision goggles! There will be many other activities, including a bouncy house for the kids.

They will also be having a dunk tank at the Showcase. For a donation of $5 or two non-perishable food items, you can have a chance to dunk a local official! Mayor Steve Gander, Police Chief Mike Hedlund, Sheriff Jim Tadman, Fire Chief Jeff Boushee, NCTC President Nancy Kiddo, EGF Sr. High Principal Brian Loer, and EGF School Board Member Brandon Boespflug will all take turns getting dunked! All donations will go to the East Grand Forks Food Shelf!
