CROOKSTON CITY COUNCIL WILL MEET ON MONDAY TO APPROVE GRANT RELATING TO PROTECTING CITY’S DRINKING WATER SOURCE

Crookston City Council

The Crookston City Council will meet on Monday at 5:30 p.m. inside the City Hall Council Chambers.

The Consent Agenda will include the approval of the City Council minutes from their meeting on January 9 and the approval of the City of Crookston Bills and Disbursements of $268,798.63. It will also include approving the Crookston Housing & Economic Development Authority (CHEDA) meeting agenda for their meeting on the same day, immediately following the City Council meeting. The Consent Agenda will also include a resolution designating the Crookston Times as the Official Newspaper for the year 2023, a dance permit for the University of Minnesota Crookston on the premises of the Crookston Eagles Club, and approve more 2023 Gas Fitting and Cement Licenses.

The Regular Agenda will include a resolution calling for a Public Hearing modifying the restated CHEDA enabling resolution and an application for the Minnesota Redevelopment Grant. The Main Agenda will also include a resolution regarding the acceptance of a Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Grant relating to protecting the source of drinking water and to approve funding for a Halstad Telecommunications Agreement. The final item on the Agenda will be a resolution to approve Geotechnical Analysis for Bank Stability for the City Lagoons.

Following the meeting, the Crookston Housing & Economic Development Authority (CHEDA) will meet for a special meeting to swear in board members Tim Menard and Henry Fischer and approve the Crookston Housing & EDA Payables. The CHEDA Agenda will also include accepting a roof and smoke detector bid for Oak Court Apartments and to approve engaging with the University of Minnesota Extension to produce a Downtown Redevelopment Survey.

Following the meeting, the Crookston Ways & Means Committee will meet to hear the Mayor’s Recommendations to Appoint Candidates to the city’s Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, Library Board, Park and Recreations Board, and Planning Commission.

The next City Council meeting will take place on Monday, February 13, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.
