CROOKSTON FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO HOUSE FIRE ON NORTH FRONT

The Crookston Fire Department was called to a house fire on North Front Street on Saturday night.  There was a lot of smoke and several fire trucks responded to the fire.  It appeared everybody in the house was able to get out and was sitting on the curb outside the house.
Other agencies responding were the Crookston Police Department, Crookston Area Ambulance and the Polk County Sheriff’s Department.

Crookston Firefighter Brian Hanson confirmed everyone did get out safely Sunday morning.   “Call came in a just before 9:00 p.m.,” said Hanson.  “We went to the 1600-block as the call came in, ended up having to turn around because something got confused between the caller and Polk County Dispatch.  Ended up going back to the 600-block.  When we found the house there was very, very light smoke coming from the basement.  So, we made entry, put the fire out and then were on standby with Crookston PD on that call.  Everyone got out safe, all pets and animals. I’d say the damage was moderate in the basement.”
