The Crookston Pirate Girls Golf team continues their conference dominance as they won the four-team Roseau Invitational at Oak Crest golf course in Roseau.
Crookston shot a 365, eight strokes better than Roseau. “The girls golfed well and it was a great day to be on the course and I think that is the first time I have said that this year,” said Pirate Coach Jeff Perreault. “I think we had three girls have their personal best scores so that was nice to see.” The co-medalists were Joslynn Leach and Dani Boyle of Crookston with 76’s, one stroke better than Kilah LaPlante of Roseau. To figure out the medalist honors (for award purposes) Leach won the scorecard playoff. “Joslynn has been working to get into the 80’s and Dani did the same. They have been back-and-forth this year so they have had some friendly competition,” said Coach Perreault. “The course was friendly today and the girls took advantage and you could see them gaining confidence today.”
Crookston will travel to East Grand Forks for a meet on Wednesday. The nine-hole meet will start at 2:00 p.m. at Valley Golf Course.
