CROOKSTON GIRL’S GOLF FINISHES THIRD PLACE AT ROSEAU INVITATIONAL

The Crookston Pirate Girl’s Golf team finished third out of four teams while shooting a 407 at the Rams Invitational at the Oakcrest Golf Course in Roseau.  Roseau won the meet with a 403, four strokes better than East Grand Forks.  “We shot 27 strokes better than we did on our own course earlier this week, so it was a great round today,” said Pirate Coach Jeff Perreault. “I think most of the girls were happy with their scores today.”

Crookston was led again by Joslynn Leach with a 95, good for third place individually. “She had a few holes she would like back with two 7’s in the last few holes,” said Coach Perreault. “She was putting well and was good around the greens and had a solid round minus a couple of holes.”

The Pirates had another sub-100 round with Sophia Rezac shooting a 99. “She set a goal to break 100 and she did that today,” said Coach Perreault. “She played well and she was happy with how well she played.”

Grace Fischer turned in a solid 106 with Hannah Brouse right behind her with a 107.  “Grace felt good about her game today,” said Coach Perreault. “She really improved from her last round and that is what we are looking for as we get more practice time outside now.”

Crookston will travel to the Bemidji Invitational at the Town and Country Club on Friday, April 30 at 9:30 a.m.  “That will be a challenging round and we are excited to see what kind of improvement we can make after two more days of practice,” said Coach Perreault. “We are enjoying the weather and the improved scores.”
