THREE FIRST PLACE FINISHES NOT ENOUGH AS CROOKSTON GIRL’S SWIMMERS LOSE DUAL WITH THIEF RIVER FALLS

The Crookston Pirate Girl’s swim team had three first place finishes in a 198-48 loss against the Thief River Falls Prowlers in a dual hosted at the Crookston
Community Pool.

The Pirates simply couldn’t match the depth of Thief River Falls team, but Crookston did have several strong performances in the events they competed in. The relay team of Fallon Johnson, Mackenzie Aamoth, Claire Oman, and Madison Hoiland won the 400-meter freestyle relay with a time of 4:59.41. Madison Hoiland continued her dominance in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 30.72 earning Hoiland a first-place finish. Hoiland added a second first-place finish. Fallon Johnson earned a second-place finish in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:43.25. In the 200-meter medley relay Mackenzie Aamoth, Madison Hoiland, Claire Oman, and Fallon Johnson finished in 2:35.23 for a second place finish. Mackeznie Aamoth had an individual second place finish in the 100-meter butterfly in 1:29.81. Claire Oman took third place in the 200-meter IM with a time of 3:14.05. Mackenzie Aamoth earned a third place finish in the 100-meter backstroke finishing in 1:24.89.

Crookston returns to the pool on Saturday for the Fosston-Bagley Invite in Fosston starting at Noon.
