The Crookston School board was informed by Crookston High School Evan Pederson that another school has expressed interest in a sports coop for boys and girls tennis, boys and girls hockey, boys and girls soccer, and baseball.
Riverside Christian School, in East Grand Forks, Activities Director Eric Morrow reached out to Pederson. “He’s reaching out, advocating for his students, who want an opportunity to play. They don’t necessarily have students who would participate in the 2026-2027 season, but they anticipate that happening in the future. So it could potentially be the middle school kids that would eventually grow into the high school kids,” said Pederson. “I see the power in numbers, especially in our soccer programs. We graduate a lot, we lose a lot, and that could help us field a JV and varsity team. So there are some things we need to look at, whether it be enrollments, and hoping it doesn’t move us up a class. That’d probably be the most deciding factor. I think it would be beneficial for our team.”
