CROOKSTON HIGH SCHOOL GIVES SEND-OFF TO STATE FFA CHAPTER AND SPEECH TEAM MEMBERS

The Crookston High School held a send-off for members of the Crookston High School FFA Chapter and three members of the High School Speech Team.

The three Speech Team students were George French, Samantha Rezac, and Zara Baig, with their Head Coach Brandon Adams.

The FFA Chapter included all their State-bound teams and individuals who qualified for their State Conventions The FFA students were Brianna Colborn, Naomi Olson, Kendall Bergquist, Ella Huffman, Taylor Schultz, Emelia Hoerner, Jo Jo Dunbar, Taylor Wieland, Avery Mathews, Christina Lisov, Hope Alexander, Lexi Reinhart, Sam Rezac, Emily Shea, Ally Wagner, Addie Schiller, Teagan Fanfulik, Brea Lessard, Lydia Olson, Emilee Smith, Adalyn Hanson, Jocelyn Johnson, Rylee Solheim, Jo Jo Wallace, Taylor Wieland, Addie Schiller, Libby Salentine, and Clay Hanson.

The send-off began with the teams marching through the school with the Pirate Pep Band following them, where they received good luck wishes and cheers from their peers. The teams and the students then went into the High School Auditorium to get a performance and demonstration from the Team’s Coach Brandon Adams and the three State Speech Team students. Senior George French performed first with his Humorous Interpretation performance, followed by Samantha Rezac and Zara Baig in their Duo Interpretation performance.

The teams will leave tomorrow morning for their competitions that will begin on Saturday, April 23rd, with the Speech Team competing in Apple Valley and the FFA Chapter competing at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities. “We are excited, and the students have all worked very hard, and I think they all have a great chance of bringing home success tomorrow,” said Speech Coach Brandon Adams.
He explained that the team has high hopes for themselves and an excellent opportunity to due well at State. “We will be starting off early tomorrow with our Humor and our Duo Interpretation students competing in their three rounds and anyone who does well enough between those three rounds will go off to their Championship Finals,” said Adams. “Then anyone who goes off to that will be ranked 1st through 6th for the entire Class A Tournament.”

The FFA Chapter will have five teams and five different students compete in various team and individual competitions for a chance to go to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, in October.
