CROOKSTON IN DESPERATE NEED OF SANDBAGGERS

The City of Crookston is in desperate need of volunteers to help fill sandbags and for help placing sandbags at vulnerable areas of the levees.  Filling sandbags is currently underway and will continue throughout the day. Volunteers are asked to arrive at the City of Crookston Street Shop located at 319 3rd Ave South.  Please enter the Street shop from Sunflower Street. 

The city crews are in the process of erecting clay dikes at the following locations throughout the day and next few days:

• Across the 300 block of Summit Ave.
• At the intersections of South Ash Street and Loring Street continuing east onto Houston Ave. (Residences will need to use Loring Street to enter/exit the Woods Addition)
• On Old Highway 75 on the north side of the road near the railroad bridge.


Sandbagging will also be taking place at the following levee locations
 throughout today and the next few days:

• The 400 block of Riverside Ave.

• Under the East Robert Street bridge near the Crookston Public Library

For safety reasons, residences are asked to please stay clear of these locations.
