CROOKSTON MAN ARRESTED FOR DWI, DRUG POSSESSION, FLEEING POLICE AFTER A PURSUIT ON THURSDAY

On Thursday, April 1 at approximately 5:30 PM a Crookston Police Officer attempted to stop a motor vehicle near the intersection of North Main Street and West Third Street.  The Officer observed the driver and sole occupant as Ruben Silva, 28, of Crookston.  Silva was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander.  Silva drove north on North Main Street against the one-way traffic, east on 7th Street, eventually ending up on Summit Avenue going east.  The Officer lost sight of the vehicle as it rounded the curve in the area of Summit Avenue and Walsh Street.  The vehicle was found a few minutes later back near the intersection of Summit Avenue and Riverside Avenue.  Silva was located a short time later near the river on Riverside Avenue and arrested without incident.

Silva was transported to the Northwest Regional Correction Center and held on several charges including; contempt of court, drug possession, fleeing a Peace Officer, theft, driving after revocation, and DWI.  The CPD was assisted by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
