The Mathcounts chapter competition was held on Friday, February 6, in Thief River Falls. The Competition Series has four levels of competition—school, chapter, state, and national. Each level of competition consists of four rounds—Sprint, Target, Team and Countdown Round. The Mathcounts competition is for kids in grades 6 through 8.
Crookston’s scoring team finished first place in the large school division and first place overall, earning them a trip to the State competition in March.
Grayson Howland finished first place in the countdown round and second place individually, Ella Capistran finished third place individually, and Harrison Cameron finished 10th place individually. Others competing, Haddie Halland, Jayden Nguyen, Jude Seddon, Micah Pyles, Corbin Caillier, and Marie Prudhomme.
