The Mathcounts chapter competition was held on Friday, February 6, in Thief River Falls. The Competition Series has four levels of competition—school, chapter, state, and national. Each level of competition consists of four rounds—Sprint, Target, Team and Countdown Round. The Mathcounts competition is for kids in grades 6 through 8. Crookston’s scoring team finished first place
The Crookston Middle School Theatre Department will present the 2025 One-Act Play “Fairy Tale Princess – Game of Thrones” on Friday, November 14, and Saturday, November 15 at 7:30 p.m. each night at the Crookston High School auditorium. Free will donations will be accepted and will go towards the costumes and other play expenses. 23
On October 8, the Crookston High School FFA Forestry, Poultry Evaluation, Soils, and Livestock Evaluation Teams competed at Barnesville High School. The Forestry and Soils teams finished first place in their categories and will advance to the state competition in April. Additionally, the Poultry Team placed 5th and will also advance to state. Highland Elementary and Crookston Middle School fifth and sixth-grade students competed in the regional Math Masters of Minnesota Challenge in Bemidji. These students competed individually and as teams on eight sets of mathematical problems in this competition for a total of 325 problems.
