The Crookston Pirate Boys and Girls Golf teams are competing in the Section 8AA Tournament across two days at Bemidji Town & Country Club.
BOYS-
Garrett Fischer- The junior shot an 81. He carded one birdie, 10 pars, four bogeys and three double bogies. He is in 17th place and will advance to the second day and is two strokes off the cut for a trip to state.
Evan Shockman- The junior shot an 84. He recorded four birdies, two pars, nine bogeys, one double bogey and two triple bogies. He is in 35th place and five strokes off the cut for a trip to state.
Tate Hamre- The junior shot an 87. He turned in one birdie, four pars, 10 bogeys and three double bogies. He didn’t make the cut to play the second round.
David Dauksavage- The junior shot a 94. He carded three pars, nine bogeys, five double bogies and one triple bogey. He didn’t make the cut for the second round.
Colin Trudeau- The freshman shot a 107. He had one par, six bogeys, four double bogies and seven triple bogies. He didn’t make the cut for the second round.
Crookston finished 9th out of 15 teams on day 1, with the top 6 teams advancing to day 2. Garrett Fischer led the Pirates with an 81, accumulating one birdie and leading all Pirates in pars with ten. Evan Shockman was the only other Pirate besides Fischer to advance to the second day as an individual, as he shot an 84 while leading all Pirates with four birdies. No Pirate recorded a number higher than 7 on any hole.
Only two individuals shot at or under par with Detroit Lakes’ Tyson Echhoff leading the field after shooting a three-under 69, with his teammate Sully Braaten shooting an even par 72.

GIRLS-
Ava Martin- The junior shot an 82. She carded 10 pars, seven bogeys and one double bogey.
Halle Nicholas- The junior shot an 88. She recorded one birdie, five pars, eight bogeys, three double bogies, and one triple bogey.
Emelia Hoerner- The junior shot a 92. She had three pars, 11 bogeys, three double bogies, and one triple bogey.
Kaylie Clauson- The senior shot a 93. She carded five pars, seven bogeys, four double bogies, and two triple bogies.
Addison Fee- The senior shot a 96. She recorded two birdies, two pars, five bogeys, seven double bogies, one triple bogey and one quadruple bogey.
Georgia Sanders- The senior shot a 102. She had two pars, six bogeys, seven double bogies, two triple bogies, and one quadruple bogey.
Crookston finished 2nd out of 15 teams after day 1 with a 355, with Detroit Lakes leading with a 325. Roseau, Hawley, East Grand Forks and DGF did not finish due to an air quality alert calling the teams in, so the teams and individuals for day 2 will not be determined until 7:30 AM tomorrow, where the final group will complete their final two holes.
Individually, Park Rapids 7th grader Natalie Martin leads the way with a two over par 74. Tatum Gatheridge of Detroit Lakes is second with a five over 77, and then Bella Snobl from Barnesville, Annie Mayer from Fergus Falls and Jaycie Sliper from Detroit Lakes tied for 3rd with eight over 80 rounds.
