Crookston Pirate Boys Golf finishes 8th in Crookston Invite

The Crookston Pirate Boys Golf team started the 2025 season, finishing eighth out of eight teams at the Crookston Invitational at Minakwa Golf Course in Crookston. East Grand Forks won the meet with a 295, 13 strokes better than Thief River Falls.

Garrett Fischer led Crookston with a 75, which was good for fifth place overall. Garrett had three bogies on the first nine holes for a 37. On the back nine, he had four bogies before recording a birdie on the 17th hole and finished with a bogey for a 75, which was seven over par.
Evan Shockman turned in a solid 83 in the year’s first meet. He carded a 40, which was six over par on the front nine. On the back nine, Evan started with a double bogey and a triple bogey before carding four pars in a row. He ended the round with two bogies and a double bogey to finish with an 83.

Tate Hamre started with a triple bogey, quadruple bogey, and a double bogey before recording a birdie on the fourth hole, carding a two. He finished with a 46 in the front nine. Tate played a decent back nine, but had three bad holes and finished with a 99.
Colin Trudeau, a freshman in his first year golfing, had a good round for his first-ever meet. He turned in a par on the sixth hole and had three bogies in the front nine. The back nine was a little tougher, but Colin had two bogies as his best holes and finished with a 104.
Crookston will travel to the New London-Spicer Invite on Thursday, April 24.
