CROOKSTON PIRATE GIRLS TENNIS COMPETES IN LITCHFIELD, GETS RAINED OUT

The Crookston Pirate Girls Tennis team competed down in Litchfield today in a tournament. The tournament was rained out halfway through the day, with some Pirates only getting one match in, and others getting to play twice. 

First Round –
The Pirates got off to a decent start in the first round of the tournament going 3-4. The Pirates #1 doubles team of Isabelle Smith and Emma Gunderson picked up a straight sets win 6-3, 6-2. The #2 doubles team of Addie Fee and Kaylie Clauson would also win in straight sets 7-5, 7-5. Also winning for Crookston in the opening round was Paige Abrahamson at #4 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. 

Second Round –
The tournament would get rained out during the second round and the Pirates would complete four matches before heading home. Halle Winjum would win her second match of the day bouncing back after an opening-round loss. Winjum would beat her opponent in the second round 6-2, 6-1.
Isabelle Smith and Emma Gunderson would also win their second match of the day 7-6 (7), and 6-4, putting them in the championship match at #1 doubles before the tournament was canceled not allowing them to play.
Abby Borowicz bounced back at #3 singles winning her second match of the day 6-0, 6-0, giving her a 1-1 record for the day.
Finally, the duo of Morgan Nelson and Jenna Seaver at #3 doubles would complete their second match before the rain started. They would fall 2-6, 2-6, wrapping up play for the day.
