CROOKSTON PLANNING COMMISSION TO MEET ON TUESDAY

The Crookston Planning Commission will meet on Tuesday, April 19, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room. The commission will approve the minutes from their last meeting on March 8 before considering two items on their agenda.

The first item on the Agenda is a presentation by APG Development Representative Elliot Steinbrink to reaffirm land use for two 36-to-39-unit apartments in Parcel 82.0083.00. The Commission had previously acted upon a Land Use Determination and a Variance request in 2019. This meeting will see APG’s input for reexamination and an affirmation of previous decisions made by the Commission. The meeting will have Steinbrink discuss the project and answer any questions the Commission members may have. They will also discuss a Land Use Determination action that was voted on and approved by them on September 17, 2019. Now the Crookston Housing and Economic Development Authority (CHEDA) intends to sell the land to APG Development to entail apartment buildings filling the usage of R-3 Multi-Family Zoning.

The Planning Commission will also discuss a Land Use Determination for Parcel #82.01096.00 on Hunter Street on the Cromb & Sletten Subdivision that is currently owned by the City and is in an R-2 One and Two Family one. The City is proposing to sell the lot as it has no need or potential use, which will minimize the maintenance requirements for the future.
