CROOKSTON POLICE-INVOLVED SHOOTING BODY CAM VIDEO RELEASED

The Crookston Police Department has released the body cam video (which is required by law) of the officer-involved shooting that took place on May 16.
The Police Officers approached Andrew Scott Dale, 35, of Crookston, who was naked and carrying a hatchet. He threatened to kill the police officers if they came any closer. After staying their distance, Dale charged the officers. One Crookston Police officer deployed his taser, and a Sheriff’s Deputy fired less-lethal rounds before Dale was shot by another Crookston Police Officer.

The Crookston Police Department asked the BCA to investigate this incident. Once the investigation is complete, the BCA will present its findings without a charging recommendation to the Polk County Attorney’s Office for review.

The body cam footage is below. While KROX hopes we never have to post something like this again, we want to make sure you know what the officers had to deal with that night and help the Crookston Police Department be transparent in this event. A WARNING – The video contains graphic content, and viewer discretion is advised.
