CROOKSTON ROTARY HANDS OUT AWARDS

The Crookston Rotary Club recently inducted Chris Trostad, Highland Elementary School principal, as a new member and recognized Students of the Month for September, October, and November.
The Student of the Month for September was Crookston High School (CHS) senior Elysa Christensen, daughter of Brian and Jessica Christensen. CHS senior Jaden Lubarski received the honor for October. He is the son of Amy and Nate Lubarski. And November’s Student of the Month was CHS senior Thea Oman, daughter of Andy and Lynnea Oman.
The Crookston Rotary Club meets on the second and third Wednesday of each month at 12:00 p.m. at the Crookston Inn. The Rotary routinely looks forward to service projects in lieu of regular club meetings as a way to give back to the community. In recent months they have volunteered at and hosted Ox Cart Days events, adopted a portion of Highway 75 and held a clean-up day, delivered treats to the police and fire departments on September 11, sold and delivered roses for the 23rd annual Rose Sale, participated in the International Day of Peace event at UMC, delivered meals for RiverView’s Home Delivered Meals (Meals on Wheels) program. For the holiday season, they look forward to ringing the bell for the Salvation Army and filling food baskets in the coming weeks.
If you are interested in joining the Crookston Rotary Club, contact 2018-19 President Jess Bengston at jbengston@crookstontimes.com
