The Crookston School Board met on Friday to discuss the next steps in the Superintendent search after the job was offered to Jason Stanoch, who turned it down, saying he had unfinished business in Bemidji. Stanoch also turned down another Superintendent job in the area.
Crookston School Board member Mike Theis said they are reopening the search through the Minnesota School Board Association. “They’re going to assist us in reopening it. Our applications opened that day, that Friday, and we’ll close on March 4th at midnight. So we’ll see who puts in for it, and then the process will be abbreviated,” said Theis. “We’ll do interviews very shortly thereafter, after the selection process, where we narrow it down. And that’s the plan for hopefully getting a new superintendent for the Crookston Public School District.”
Theis added that they invite the public to attend all the school board meetings. “We look forward to having people present. You’re all welcome to attend the interview process, and we welcome you to any of the school board processes,” said Theis. “We would welcome you to come to any of the school board meetings. So come to our meetings. Absolutely, we invite you.”
