The Crookston School Board will meet Tuesday, May 26 at 5 p.m. in the choir and orchestra room at the Crookston High School (CHS). The meeting will be held electronically, and members of the public may either come to the choir room for comment or email comments with name, and address by 1 p.m.
The personnel items on the consent agenda include accepting the resignations of Karen Danielson, head cook at CHS; Brandi Gilleland-Narvaez, paraprofessional at CHS; Gayathri Venkatachalam, title aide at Highland Elementary School (HES); and Kaia Bubna, kindergarten teacher at Washington Elementary School (WES). Approving employment agreements with Linda Morgan, youth service director for 2020-2022; Emily Samuelson, success coach for 2020-2021; Matthew Torgerson, assistant principal at CHS for 2020-2021; and Dave Emanuel, Indian education coordinator from 2020-2022. And to approve employment with Tracy Hoffman, elementary music instructor at HES; Christine Erdman, head cook at CHS; Caitlin Becks, band instructor at CHS; and Janelle Swanson, business instructor at CHS.
The consent agenda will also include accepting the donation of an instrument to the band program from Erin LaPlante, approving the April 27 minutes, and approving the current bills.
The main agenda will include the official school board action to move graduation to July 25, a membership resolution for the Minnesota State High School League for 2020-2021, approving a new Hispanic Liaison position for 2020-2021 school year, and approve the identified official with authority for the school district for the 2020-2021 school year. The board will also review and approve changes to district policies as recommended by the Minnesota School Boards Association, approve a CHS weight room upgrade, and the transition of the Alternative Learning Center to Alternative Learning Program.
The meeting will conclude with any administrative staff reports and a report from Superintendent Jeremy Olson.
