CROOKSTON SCHOOL DISTRICT LOOKING TO ADD SACRED HEART TO GIRLS HOCKEY COOP

The Crookston School Board will meet on Monday, September 26, at 5:00 p.m. inside the Choir/Orchestra Room in the Crookston High School. The meeting is open to the public with public hearings for visitors who wish to share concerns with the school board.

The Consent Agenda will include the approval of the minutes of their Special Meeting on August 17 and their Regular Meeting on August 22, along with all of their current bills. The Consent Agenda will also include the acceptance of the resignation letters of Highland Gifted and Talented Teacher Amber Sannes and Paraprofessional Penny Halstad. It will also accept the resignation of High School Paraprofessionals Miriam VanEps and Karen Reierson. The Consent Agenda will also include approving an updated MOU for Highland School Part-time Phy Ed Instructor Scott Oliver, an MOU for Special Ed Instructor Susan Akerlind, and an updated Employment Agreement with District Activities Director Nathan Lubarski. The agenda will also include approving the employments of Highland Paraprofessionals Tori Demarais, Cassandra Brown, Jasmine Brennan, Rhonda Richards, and Holly Mancktelow, High School Success Coach Lacia Hanson and Paraprofessional Marisa Arriaga, Bus Driver Aaron Lewis, and Washington Elementary School Head Custodian Steven Nelson. The final items on the Consent Agenda will be to approve Salary Lane Advance Requests and to increase the daily pay rate for Licensed Substitute Teachers from $135 to $145.

The Main Agenda will include a discussion about the goals of Interim Superintendent Dave Kuehn. It will also include approving the 2022 Preliminary Limitation and Levy Certification and 2023 Payable and a resolution establishing a Combined Polling Place. The agenda will also include approving an application for the Dissolution of Cooperative Sponsorship for Girl’s Hockey with Crookston, Mayville, Hatton, and Fisher then approving a Cooperative Sponsorship for Girl’s Hockey with Crookston, Mayville, N.D., Hatton, N.D. , and Sacred Heart of East Grand Forks. The final item on the agenda will be to approve a Future Farmers of America (FFA) Student Field Trip to Indianapolis.

The board will then hear Administrative Reports from Washington School Principal Denice Oliver, Highland Elementary Principal Chris Trostad, and Crookston High School Principal Matt Torgerson about events and progress at their respective schools. Crookston Public Schools Interim Superintendent Dave Kuehn will also give a report about actions and plans for the school district.

The next School board meeting will take place on Monday, October 24, at 5:00 p.m. at the Crookston High School Choir/Orchestra Room.
