CROOKSTON SCHOOL DISTRICT TO HAVE CELL PHONE POLICY MEETINGS AUGUST 1 AND 7

The Crookston School District will be holding two community meetings/forums to discuss a cell phone policy on August 1 and August 7.

The State of Minnesota requires school districts to have a cell phone policy by March 2025, so the Crookston School District wants to implement one before school starts this fall so they don’t have any changes in the middle of the school year.

Superintendent Randy Bergquist said the school board and administration want parent and student input on the policy. “I think it is great the school board and administration is asking for input on a cell phone policy just to get parents to say what are some things that they are thinking about,” said Bergquist. “A lot of school districts are making the decision with the Superintendent, administration, and school board making the decision, and I think it is a credit that we are asking parents and students to come tell us what they want in the cell phone policy, so I am hoping people show up for the meetings.”

The Cell Phone Policy Input meetings will be on the following days and times –
-Thursday, August 1, at Noon in the Crookston High School Auditorium
-Wednesday, August 7, at 7:00 p.m. in the Crookston High School Auditorium
