CROOKSTON SCHOOL DISTRICT TO START A PARENT ADVISORY BOARD

The Crookston School District World’s Best Workforce committee came up with a suggestion to start a Parent Advisory Committee, and the school board approved moving forward with the idea at their meeting on Monday.

The idea of the committee is the idea of the family engagement sub-group of the World’s Best Workforce, and Crookston School member Dave Davidson said he is excited to get the committee going, but they need volunteers to serve on the board. “We would like to create a panel committee of parents or grandparents that have children that are going to school here now, that are interested in making this a better place,” said Davidson. “We are also looking to give underserved populations in the community a voice.”

Davidson said they are looking for people willing to give their time and ideas. “We are looking for people willing to give up some time and a lot of effort and people interested in engaging in positive conversations on how to make the schools a better place,” said Davidson. “We are looking for people who can disagree without being disagreeable.”

If you are interested in being on the Crookston School District Parent Advisory Committee, they are looking for parents/guardians from Washington, Highland, and the High School. Davidson said they would like to get it structured this summer and up and running by next school year. If you are interested, you can contact the following-
