CROOKSTON WILL HOST THE SECTION 8A BASEBALL TOURNAMENT

The City of Crookston is set to host the 2024 Section 8A High School Boys Baseball Tournament in June.

Crookston will host the final three days of the tournament, starting on June 1. The semi-final will be played on Tuesday, June 4, and the championship game will be played on Thursday, June 6. All games will be held at Jim Karn Field. Seeding for the tournament will be held this weekend.

Hosting the section tournament will be an excellent opportunity for Crookston. “It’s a very high honor in my mind, especially in my field of work. We got the opportunity to host our girls’ high school hockey sections here in Crookston, and now we got offered to host a boys’ high school baseball section, so two sections in one year,” Crookston Park & Rec. Director Jake Solberg. “It’s just very important for our community; it’s going to bring people from around our area into our community.”

Crookston looks to host more tournaments in the coming years. “Baseball is a lot of playoff games just to get even the section tournament, so good luck to all teams and safe travels to everyone that is coming to our community,” added Solberg.
