CYCLIST STRUCK BY VEHICLE IN GRAND FORKS

On 08-17-23 around 5:40 P.M., officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to the area of 1700 12th  Ave North for a report of a bicycle/ vehicle accident.

The investigation showed that the bicyclist was northbound on North 17th St. and the motor vehicle just turned onto 12th Ave North from a nearby parking lot going west. The bicyclist rode the bike into the oncoming traffic of the motor vehicle. The driver was able to apply the brakes but still struck the bicyclist.

The juvenile bicyclist was transported to Altru. It is not clear if the juvenile had any injuries at this time. The driver of the motor vehicle was uninjured. The investigation will continue.

Grand Forks Police were assisted by the Grand Forks Fire Department and Altru paramedics.
