RiverView Health is excited to welcome Ian Glidden, MD, to its medical staff. Dr. Glidden is a Family Medicine provider who sees patients of all ages in Crookston and Fertile.
In actuality, this is a “welcome back” to Dr. Glidden, as he worked as a summer intern at RiverView in 2016 and 2017. Since then, he has earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, completed a Family Medicine residency in Greenwood, SC, and finished a fellowship at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Columbia, SC.
“I am excited about serving a rural community closer to my family,” he said of his RiverView practice. “I grew up in the Fargo/Moorhead area and have family throughout the Red River Valley. I believe everyone should be able to receive high-quality care, even if they are not located in an urban area, and I am hopeful I am able to advance that belief here.
“I received fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine which helps patients with serious illness manage pain, stress, and symptom burden associated with their illness. I find helping this group of patients particularly rewarding as I can often see the impact I make in both the patient and family’s quality of life.”
Dr. Glidden and his family recently moved to Crookston. He and his wife, Emma, have been married for seven years; they met at the University of North Dakota during his undergraduate studies. The couple has two sons, Ivan, 3, and Evander, 2, who keep their parents busy. Dr. Glidden described them as “the light of my world.”
In his spare time, Dr. Glidden enjoys spending time in nature, camping, rucking, and gardening.
“We are very excited to start building our life here in Crookston,” he concluded.
