DRIVER OF CAR THAT WENT IN RIVER IN CROOKSTON IDENTIFIED

UPDATE (1:31 p.m.)
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle that entered the river has been identified as William Mark Tuseth (26) of Crookston.  An autopsy is being performed; no foul play is suspected.  The vehicle recovered from the river is a 2010 Chevy Impala.  The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with the crash.  This investigation remains active and no further information is being released at this time.  

ORIGINAL STORY
On Friday, October 13, at approximately 2:20 a.m., the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Crookston Police Department responded to a report of a crash near the intersection of Houston Avenue and South Broadway in the City of Crookston. A witness reported that a vehicle had left the roadway near the north end of the Red Lake River bridge and had entered the river.

Deputies and officers responded and located damage consistent with the report.

Grand Forks County Dive Team personnel are on scene and assisting with attempts to locate a vehicle in the river. Vehicle and occupant information are currently unknown.

No further information will be released at this time.

Crookston Fire Department and Crookston Area Ambulance also responded.
