DUSTIN KLOOZ SENTENCED FOR BURGLARIES CHRISTMAS EVE 2018

Dustin Klooz, 33 of Crookston, was sentenced Tuesday morning in Polk County District Court on a guilty plea on two counts of burglary in the third degree for breaking into KROX on Christmas Eve 2018 and another break-in the same night.

Klooz was sentenced to 26 months in prison with credit for 369 days served.  He will be eligible for a supervised release in July.  Klooz was also ordered to pay $420 in fines, the statutory minimum and $3,562.37 in restitution to the two affected parties.

Klooz broke into KROX kicking in the door and everything he stole was recovered by the Crookston Police Department.

Klooz addressed the court during his sentencing apologizing to the Crookston community and KROX.  Klooz said, “as a parent of three children it’s embarrassing.  I’m ashamed of myself and sorry for any pain that I caused.”
